By that time, we were both really looking forward to being back in our room, to dry and have a rest.Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704656564078750607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1949425054295660529.post-4822160425154710022012-06-28T23:47:07.245+02:002012-06-28T23:47:07.245+02:00such lush surroundings for lovely buildingssuch lush surroundings for lovely buildingsScrappy Gramshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09009685288094065223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1949425054295660529.post-43153446296021378682012-06-28T18:33:13.051+02:002012-06-28T18:33:13.051+02:00What a lovely walk (hike) you had! I like your idea of it being a castle or a monastery much better! :0)Canadian Chickadeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12995693884248628958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1949425054295660529.post-43727192848051147762012-06-28T13:35:26.336+02:002012-06-28T13:35:26.336+02:00Jenny, you should see the power plant in Riva! We saw that building, lit up at night, rising high and majestically over the lake, and had no idea what it was until we went right up to the front door and realized it is their current power plant. We thought it looked like Gotham City out of the Batman movies! It must be just a few decades younger than the abandoned Rovereto plant, the one I am showing in this picture. On the Sentiero Ponale website, there are pictures of both power plants from the time they were still operating.Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704656564078750607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1949425054295660529.post-81486663134101135012012-06-28T11:35:08.586+02:002012-06-28T11:35:08.586+02:00I specially love that hydro electric plant. But they cared about the way it fitted into the countryside, they put care and even emotion into it. We don't have enough of that today.Jenny Woolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16881781466502273314noreply@blogger.com
