The first king of Wuerttemberg is mostly remembered for having sold hundreds of thousands of his men to Napoleon in exchange of a crown - until then, Wuerttemberg was a duchy, not a kingdom. The dukes ruling Wuerttemberg before that time were big spenders, not really caring about their subjects as long as they could squeeze more money out of them.Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704656564078750607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1949425054295660529.post-83264711476968597592015-10-06T21:51:13.341+02:002015-10-06T21:51:13.341+02:00It sounds like he understood the true meaning of s...It sounds like he understood the true meaning of servant-leader.messymimihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10649529601786689712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1949425054295660529.post-62520534073661338032015-10-06T20:06:25.167+02:002015-10-06T20:06:25.167+02:00It's nice to read about a monarch who was mode...It's nice to read about a monarch who was modest, kind and constructive. I think being a royal must be one of the hardest jobs in the world. And it's usually the villains who are remembered - in all walks of life.
