Along the River

As I said at the end of my previous post, L'Orrido di Sant'Anna was the point of return of that day's walk. The path we took back into town was close to the water's edge most of the time. We met some people with dogs, runners, cyclists and other walkers, and of course more of them the closer we got to town.

Back in Cannobio, we walked around some more and took even more pictures of the alleys and narrow cobbled roads, but these will appear in one of my next posts.

  1. More beautiful and rustic places to explore. That river is larger than I thought. I wonder what it looks like in August. Of course my favorite photos have you in them!

    1. Thank you, Kristi!
There are numerous becks and rivulets joining the Cannobino before it ends up feeding the lake, but I can imagine that there will be less water in high summer.

  2. You're looking so good, I love striped tops for spring/summer and have several - but then you always do! How about a pic of your boyfriend soon - we would love to see him! Nice scenery - and I see the 'locks' are even in Italy! First saw them in Kamchatka, Russia - now they are weighing down bridges all across the planet and some are having to be removed for safety!

    1. I am not fond of the locks on bridges, this "fad" has grown out of proportion like so many things people pick up on. In Cologne, the railway bridge is so weighed down by them that it is strictly forbidden now to add any more.
O.K. does not want to have his picture (or real name) on my blog, sorry. Not that he is not worth showing - I think he is very good-looking!

  3. Very nice! I love the bridge but such a shame to see all those locks. What do you think? Hey, I don't like graffiti either! :-)

    1. The bridge was fun to walk across, I like those springy-swingy suspended ones!
As for the locks, I can very well do without them (see my reply to Mary above your comment). But I still think the photo O.K. took of them is good.

    2. I also like the swinging bridges but I do recall being on one with my little brothers as a kid and they made it too swingy for me, I am a big chicken! I agree with you, that is a great photo, OK is a good photographer!

    1. It is a wonderful landscape, although I am not sure I would want to live there permanently with the mountains so close.
