October is Over

October is over, and it has felt very long as a month. It was filled with work and worries (I will possibly tell you more about that in a later post; for now, let it suffice to say it had nothing to do with my health or O.K.), but also with sunshine and good things.

Here is a collection of pictures I took during the month with my phone, to give you an idea of what the month was like over here.

This was taken on the 4th of October at 8:34 from a client's office on the 9th floor - the view across Ludwigsburg practically non-existent:

A few hours later, it looked like that:

I spotted these unusual plane trails in the sky on the 5th of October on my way to work:

Leaving my parents' place on the 9th of October at around 7:00 pm to this beautiful sunset:

On the 10th, I left another client's office already before 4:00 pm and was greeted by this beautiful tree just outside the building:

Two days later, this was the view from my kitchen window at 7:30 in the morning:

I spent two weekends at O.K.'s and took these pictures in and near Offenburg on the 13th:

At 7:41 on the 18th, this is how the sunrise looked from my kitchen window:

The same view at 7:00 on the morning of the 30th - the colours are "as seen", I have not done anything with the picture:

And yesterday morning:

I hope October was a good month for you, and November will be just as good. It is always something of a mix of emotions for me; I love this season with its beautiful light and colour, but there is also sadness as it would have been my late husband's 50th birthday yesterday, and the 9th anniversary of his death is coming up on Nov. 5th.

  1. Thank you for sharing your photographs. We have had some beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the past few weeks too. This morning it is raining steadily but it is not cold. I enjoy walking in the rain so I will have a good day even if it continues to rain. Enjoy your day and although I have never commented before, I always enjoy your blog.

  2. I'm glad your worries are not to do with your health or OK and I hope that they are soon gone and life resumes its usual calm routine. It always fascinates me how the same scene can look so different at different times and I always lije to see the views from your kitchen window marking weather and seasons.

    1. Thank you, Jenny, we are relatively optimistic right now regarding our worries.
It has been 15 years last month that I have been living in this flat, and I never tire of the view from my kitchen window!

  3. Oh what gorgeous photos! I do so love your view from your wondow. I hope that your worries in life will diminish soon and that all will be well for you. One of my blogging friends, Diana, wrote a post on "bittersweet". Your post reminded me of what she wrote. November! It is here and I welcome it with a full heart!

    1. Thank you, Kay! The worries are already diminuishing somewhat, and we are hoping for further improvement.
November in my town also means the start of the Christmas Market on the last Tuesday of the month, something my Mum and I are especially looking forward to!

  4. Some beautiful photos of your October. I am sorry to hear of your worries, whatever they may be. I am hoping they are resolved in a way that is satisfactory to you. I am so sorry for the reason for your mixed feelings over October. They come for me in September, but it is eleven years since my husband died. (and 46 since we married.) This year we are only having some of the beautiful fall color we usually enjoy, but yesterday my sil and I drove across the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and we are finally seeing something. I look forward to our Thanksgiving and what another friend calls "the sparkle of Christmas". Be well.

Yes, the sparkle of Christmas! Only four weeks or so until the opening night of our Christmas Market here, a date I have firmly marked in my diary.

  7. It's amazing what subtle differences you can see from your kitchen window each day. I am assuming that the "worries" are connected with your beloved father. I hope that all is well.

  8. I'm glad you had some sunny and colourful days as contrast to the work and worries. In my experience too, October is a time of contrasts like that: bright and sunny one day - foggy, wet and miserable the next... Not only in nature, but in my mind and memories as well! ♥
