Off to Austria

Tomorrow, Sunday, O.K. and I will be off to Austria for ten days of (hopefully) walking and hiking in the region Bregenzerwald. Our hotel deliberately does not have WiFi in the bedrooms; my occasions for reading and commenting on your blogs will therefore be very limited, and I doubt I will do much blogging myself.

Just to let you know, so that nobody needs to worry when you don‘t see me around as much as usual.

  1. Hope both of you have a lovely holiday. I hope it’s not too hot ( or wet) for walking. I look forward to some holiday pictures please.

    1. It‘s the last two of the six weeks holidays I am officially due - then nothing really until next year in May, apart from the Bank Holidays such as Christmas and New year. Pictures will certainly be posted - probably more than anyone would want.

    1. Thank you, Ellen! O.K. is a good driver; as far as it depends on him, we will get there and back safely (not that far, maybe 3 1/3 to 4 hours).

    1. Thank you, Jennifer! Had anyone told me years ago that I was going to be someone who goes on holiday 3 times a year I would not have believed it.

  6. One of the perks of working in Europe has always been much longer vacation allowances. Yours is triple what most workers get here, two weeks paid - though some might be fortunate and get 3 weeks if a longtime employee of a company.
Good for you - have an enjoyable holiday with O.K.
Look fwd to seeing where you go in that lovely countryside.
    Happy hiking X X

    1. Thank you, Mary!
As far as I know, Germany is one of the countries with the most time off conceded to employees. Six weeks is standard for most types of work here, and sometimes even that does not feel enough! I like to work, and I like my work, but I am never bored when I‘m not working, either 😊
A good and safe journey for you and Bob, too!
