Fashion Calendar: November

November only had 30 days, so today is my last chance for a Fashion Calendar post this month.

As mentioned in yesterday's post, it is often a grey, foggy, wet and chilly month - therefore, it needs colours! Bright colours, and plenty of it! (See this post for some more about the topic of colours and how they can affect our mood.)

One of my favourite autumn & winter outfits is this fuchisa or magenta coloured dress by Mexx:

The above outfit was my choice for an evening out with my girlfriends. Yesterday, for this season's first stroll across the Christmas market, I wore it with the dotty tights you first saw here.

I bought it four or five years ago and still love it. It is very versatile in that I can either wear it with really warm woolly tights and a turtle-neck sweater underneath, or with a pair of more chic tights, big earrings and matching lipstick.

When I saw it in the shop back then, it was one of those occasions where you see your name written all over it and simply have to buy it! Since it wasn't expensive, I never thought twice.

  1. Four years ago and you still wear it! I wish my daughter would do that! She wears things once and that's it, luckily I can fit into her clothes. I take them so then I don't need to spend money on clothes. Most of the clothes I'm wearing in my blog are hers. I'm very glad to meet you, I am following you back gladly. I loved your mom's post about socks. I will tell my daughter to come visit you too, she's also on blogspot www.hungrycaramella.blogspot.com
It's funny that you married a Sicilian...my husband is Japanese! Let's keep in touch! Ciao e salutami la mamma!

    1. Hello Francesca, and welcome to my blog! How nice of you to follow me back. Four or five years is not the oldest item in my wardrobe - I have a coat that my second husband gave to me for my birthday in 2001, and I still love wearing that one.
      Grazie per seguirmi!

  2. I can't compete with that elegance! BUT I do have some gorgeous socks made by your mum, which arrived this morning! Please do thank her very much for me.

  3. I agree, it looks very smart on you.
When I have something that I really like I wear it to death. I don’t buy really cheap things, so my clothes don’t wear out. I go on and on with the same old things, but as I rarely buy anything up to the minute fashionable either, that doesn’t matter.

    1. Thank you, Friko! As for fashionable or not, since I have a tendency to wear my favourite bits to pieces, I am often not very fashionable. But I don't care as long as I feel good in those clothes. Then again, when I come across a fashionable but cheap dress at H&M, I find it hard to resist :-)

  4. That's my favourite colour! I haven't got your figure so I could not wear that particular dress, but I have several tops of that colour...

    1. It was the first item I ever bought of that colour, Monica, but I just knew this dress was "mine" :-)

  7. I love garments like this! Sometimes I am tempted to buy 2 of them, although I often wonder if I will get horribly tired of them. What do you think?

    1. Oh, I do that - I have several tops that are the same model but a different colour, and so far, I have not gotten tired of any of them.
