Two Sunrises and a New Dress

The changing of the clock back from the totally useless summer time the other day means that I now am up in time to see the sunrise from my kitchen window. These two were the most beautiful, taken five days or so apart from each other. Especially the second one could easily pass for a romantic sunset, if you didn't know that my kitchen window faces east!

And here is the last item added (unnecessarily, of course) to my wardrobe:

At the end of this post, I mentioned that I did not leave the fashion show without making a purchase... and the black dress was said purchase. It was rather expensive (Hugo Boss), but when I saw it on the model walking up and down the catwalk, I knew I wanted to at least try it on. As soon as she was out of it and wearing something else, she let me come into the changing room and try it. Well, what shall I say - it was my size, and she also gave me the Vanzetti leather belt so that I could wear it exactly the way she had presented it on the catwalk. Since then, I have been wearing the dress twice, once combined with purple and once with blue.
On Hugo Boss' website, the dress is presented like this:

I find the close-up of the material useful. But why does the girl in the last picture walk like that? She is probably going weak in the knees because she has not been eating enough.

  1. I'll have another go at posting this. I said how much I liked the dress and how envious I am of anyone who is model size. And what a stroke of good luck that she was so generous about the belt. I bet you feel all round good about it. And yes, no way of telling sunsets from sunrises without the vital geographical information...

    1. Thank you for not giving up when your comment wasn't posted the first time, Jenny!
The dress really is nice and looks even nicer with the belt, I think. My wording was a bit prone to misunderstanding there - she didn't give me the belt as a gift, but gave it to me so that I could try it with the dress, too. And since this was the only dress they had in my size, and the belt matched it so well, I bought both items straight "off the model", so to speak :-)

  2. I really like this dress and you will have lots and lots of times to wear and enjoy it. Glad you splurged and paid the Hugo Boss price! Is "splurged" a word you ever use?

    1. Yes, I think this is fast developing into my new favourite dress! Well, one of many favourite dresses... This one is versatile enough to be teamed up for going out or down for a day at the office, and goes with almost any colour.
I've heard "splurge" before but I use "splash out" :-)

  3. You could have been the model! A lovely morning view, it must be nice to wake and see that each day.

    1. I suppose I could have been - except for my hair, my face and my specs (glasses) :-D
The kitchen window view is something I really like very much about my flat, no matter what weather and what time of the day.

  5. The model is walking like that because it is a walk that men find very attractive and I think that you should practise walking that way on your way to work. By the way the black dress looks great on you - certainly better than it would have looked on Hugo Boss.

    1. It would take me twice as long to get to and from work, and besides I'd look very silly, so I won't start practising this weak-knees-walk.
Who knows what Mr. Boss would have looked like wearing that dress? I have never met him and he might have just the right figure for it!

  6. The dress is certainly stunning. You have excellent taste. I can never tell with YP whether his comments are serious or an attempt at humour. If he really thinks that men find that walk attractive then he must know an entirely different species of male from the ones I know. To me it just looks affected and silly. As for the sunrises they just lift up one's heart.

    1. Thank you, Graham! I tend to take YP's comments as humorous. Like you, I don't know any man who'd find that weak-knees-walk attractive.
