Wrapping Up

...our September holiday, that is. Yes, I know, it is November already, and October was a very busy month. Which is why I am somewhat behind with posting, but as I so often comment on other blogs when their owners apologise for long gaps, blogging should be a pleasure and not a burden. If you don't have the time or inclination, simply don't post - there will be another day when you have both.

Here are a few more pictures from Zurich and the Black Forest, plus a video which I hope you will be able to see. It sort of "stutters" when I try to play it, but maybe it is different on your computers. All pictures and the video are courtesy of O.K.

Zurich panoramas:

You have seen those rocky walls in my posts about Wutach gorge before, but now you can see how large those rocks were compared to a person:

Well, that's our September holiday finally wrapped up!

  1. These photos remind me of a trip Gregg and I took to the natural bridge in Virginia several years ago. I believe we went in June of 2011. The landscape looked very similar.

I agree with you about only posting when it's a pleasure to do so. Blogging should be just another obligation!

    1. Blogging should *not* be just another obligation...sorry, it's early here!

    2. Don't worry, I understood it anyway :-)
The video is online now. Interesting to think that there is an area in Virginia very similar to the Black Forest!

  2. Limestone reminds us how old our planet is and it also reminds us that in the great span of our planet's history we are only here for the blink of an eye.

    1. So true! The Wutach Gorge changed its shape several times in what is considered very recently in geological terms, at about the last ice age. To imagine how the water has made this deep gorge over I don't know how many years!

  3. I love walking around huge rock formations, but those do look a bit daunting! I hope you are able to upload the video later. Really lovely Zurich panoramas. I like them all but the last may be my favorite.

    1. Some of them were daunting, and it wasn't always easy to get past them on very narrow paths with just a wire (or nothing) to hold on to.
The last of the Zurich panorama pictures is also my favourite!

  4. So lovely there and I enjoyed the short video with sound! You certainly look great Meike and I know it was a perfect holiday for you - beautiful places to enjoy Nature etc. I'm just back from noisy, wild New Orleans (my granddaughter's destination choice to celebrate her 21st!). We had fun but it was so good to get home again.

Looks like I'm having Blogger problems with comments as some others had this week! If you could take a peek at my post and just leave a word or two I'd be so appreciative - I would like to know if Blogger has 'kicked me to the curb' so to speak!!!!

    Hugs - Mary

    1. Thanks, Mary! Yes, it was as perfect as it can get :-)
Noisy, wild New Orleans sounds like something I could handle only for a very short time - a sure sign of my getting older!
I shall pop over to your blog in a minute and check whether I can leave a comment or not.
      Hugs, Meike

  5. Love the photos of Zurich and the rocky gorge! The video played perfectly for me! Was that a waterfall on your walk?

    1. Yes, but it was not your "usual" waterfall in that it wasn't high up but right at the side of the path, only a little higher than we are tall, and the water trickled down all along the width of the rock. The video is in slow motion.
