Going Green...

...food-wise, that is. Or was, a few days ago, when I decided to use the beans I had gotten from my parents the other day as part of the rich bounty shown here.

What I did was nothing special or elaborate; I cut off the ends from all the beans and boiled them in salted water while in a bigger pot, the pasta was splashing about in its own jaccuzzi.


When I thought both beans and pasta should be ready, I put them on a plate and added the last bit of my mum's home-made pesto with pine nuts - et voilĂ , there you have my green dish:
Farfalle con pesto e fagioli!

Done in 15-20 minutes, eaten in five :-)

  7. GB, have I ever mentioned that I love cheese? Well, I do, and there does not go by a day without me having at least some cheese. Which reminds me that I have to get some shopping done before the weekend.

    Thank you, Kay! Of course I put the little farfalla (Italian for butterfly, which is what this shape of pasta is called) on top just for effects :-) It was a present to myself, made from a present from my parents.

    Yes, Mark. I cooked just that one piece of pasta. It's what us top models do. That way, we never put on weight :-D

  8. I'm sure you will have mentioned cheese but as I am a recent addition to your world I haven't yet got up to speed. It's good to know though. It's one of the things in life that I really wouldn't want to do without.

  9. Same here, GB! Put before a selection of sausages and hams or cheese, I'll always go for the cheese platter. Cheese & bread and chocolate (not all three of them eaten together) are my staple food, and have been for many years!
