Quick Update and Reminder About Giveaway

Good morning fellow bloggers, friends, family and followers!

A quick update just to let you all know that my sister and I returned from England on Sunday night after a very good week there (not so much weather-wise, but we were still lucky, and what was most important to us was to spend time with the lovely people who are my family over there, and we certainly did that!).

Because I won't have time to organize my and my mum's giveaway until early next week (most likely Monday), I have decided to let it run for another week. Therefore, you still have a chance to participate.
Also, with some of you, it is still unclear whether you actually wish to be entered in the drawing or not. Please go back to the post , look at your own comment and what I have written in reply, and then let me know, if it was not yet obvious anyway.

Thank you :-)

I have quite a back log of things I want to write about, dating from before we left, and then of course plenty of pictures to show and stories to tell from our week in England - so, keep watching this space!

  1. Hello Meike:
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your time in England although we cannot imagine that the weather was up to very much. From all that we hear, it has been raining non stop since the start of April, and cold too.

How exciting the giveaway is becoming but we note lots of interest!!

    1. Hello Jane and Lance,
it wasn't too bad, really - just too cold. Apart from the Sunday night when we arrived (and retreated to our B&B anyway), and a bit of rain on the Thursday, it was dry throughout. We even saw some sun and blue sky!

  2. You couldn't have chosen a worse time to visit England, weather-wise. But I'm glad you enjoyed it. And I guess I'm too late for the socks :(

BTW when/where was the sun and blue sky? I assume not Wiltshire!

    1. Frances, you are not at all too late for the socks - read again, I just wrote this morning that I have decided to extend the giveaway for another week, that is, until next Monday :-)

We were in Yorkshire, and the weather honestly wasn't as bad as it seems to have been just before we arrived. One rainy evening and a bit of rain on and off during one day is alright for a full week's holiday, I think.

    1. Hey Karen, I didn't know that! What part of Yorkshire are you from?
And didn't someone once say, there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!

    1. Dear Kay, funnily enough, I never got round to having fish & chips all week! We were always either eating out "properly" at a restaurant or pub or at my relatives', or we simply grabbed a sandwich and some fruit and had that on our beds while reading and/or watching TV.

    1. It was alright, it really was - just a bit too cold, and we were well prepared with padded coats and woolly jumpers and so on.

  7. I'm originally from Sheffied, South Yorkshire. A lovely city with so many parks. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Where in Yorkshire were you?

    1. Sheffield is indeed a lovely city and has improved a lot over the past 10 years or so! This time, I didn't make it there; instead my relatives who live in Chapeltown came up to Ripon to meet us there. My husband's family are from the Barnsley area (he was born in Wath-on-Dearne), but my mother-in-law moved to Ripon years ago to be closer to her daughter.

  8. I have a niece that lives in Chapeltown. Small world isn't it?
