This time, we had the garden flat. It is almost the size of my flat at home, and surprisingly costs less per night than some of the hotel rooms in the main building. The downside (no problem for us) is that one has to leave the house and walk a few steps up the road for every meal and every time one wants to use the spa.
The first picture shows the length of the ground floor - all ours, with French windows leading out to the garden. The next two are what we see from our front door.
Want to see what it looks like inside?
The flat is ready for self-catering, but we have our breakfast and evening meals at the hotel and use our kitchen only to make a first cup of coffee in the morning and maybe a mug of tea in the evening.
After our arrival, we had just about enough time to unpack and then a welcome drink at the bar before dinner was served.
After our delicious meal, there was still enough daylight left to stretch our legs and take in the views. Limpach, the hamlet where we are staying, is set beautifully among meadows and woods, with views of Lake Constance in the distance and even the snow-covered mountain range of the Alps on a clear day.
Looking back towards Limpach, along the road we have just walked. |
The last photo shows the garden in front of the hotel and our house to the left.
We were very much looking forward to our week here!
Looks amazingly beautiful and tranquil. Looking forward to hearing more.
ReplyDeleteIt was/is, and you will 😊
DeleteOh, it looks like a lovely place, Meike. I bet you are enjoying your time there!
ReplyDeleteIt is, Ellen, and I we are having a very good and relaxing time here. Back home tomorrow!
DeleteIt is so beautiful, I would never want to leave. The close up of the blossoming tree, its it an apple tree? I am not sure, it reminds me of trees that I have seen in England. Your photo of you in front of the bar with that drink, you look very relaxed and happy! Good for you. x
ReplyDeleteIt is truly beautiful, but to live here all the time would not be for me - not a single shop, not even for the most basic things like a loaf of bread, is within walking distance.
DeleteYes, the blossoms are on an apple tree. Cherry blossoms are as good as over by now.
Deggenhausertal & Limpach.
ReplyDeleteNow I have two magical place names whenever I think of Lake Constance.
The garden from the French windows is Paradise on Earth !
Your recent posts have been enchanting but this last photo is like the Eye of Heaven.
You look so happy having a drink at the close of a blissful day.
The lake is quite a bit away, really, so if you want to think of it, try the names Lindau, Reichenau and Meersburg, for example.
DeleteHaving that welcome drink shortly after arriving at this beautiful place was a happy moment.
Good to see you again, by the way. Whenever you‘ve not been commenting for a while, I hope you are just busy with other things and not ill.
Nice to see the blossom out. Enjoy your stay
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pat! Home tomorrow.
DeleteThere will be plenty of pictures of meadows in bloom over the next few posts!
Nice to have a bit more space when you're staying a bit longer in one place! :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice - especially when the weather is not ideal for long walks and you spend more time in your room(s) than you would do otherwise 😊
DeleteLooks a really peaceful apartment and area. Hope you had a restful time.
ReplyDeleteThank you! We did, and are now back home, getting ready for picking up work again.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous place to stay! It looks very comfortable, too.
ReplyDeleteIt was spacious, clean and comfortable - luxurious! And it was comparatively inexpensive, too.
